About Greg Jefferys

Greg Jefferys is an Australian Hepatitis C advocate, educator, and founder of the world’s first Hep C Buyers Club. Since 2015, he has worked to improve access to affordable hepatitis C treatment for people around the world.

How it Started

Because Greg could not afford to buy Gilead’s highly effective, but extremely expensive, Hepatitis C treatment Sofosbuvir (Sovaldi), he travelled to India to buy a generic version of Sovaldi. After the cure of his own Hep C infection with Indian manufactured generic Sovaldi Greg became a leading voice in helping patients legally access quality generic treatments where ever the original medicines remained unaffordable or unavailable. Through his Hep C Buyers Club, he has assisted thousands of people in understanding their treatment options and accessing affordable life-saving hepatitis C treatment.

Greg has worked closely with doctors, researchers, patient groups, and health advocates internationally, contributing to greater awareness of hepatitis C treatment access and the role of generic medicines in global health. His efforts have been recognised as an important part of the movement that helped expand access to hepatitis C cures for patients who might otherwise have gone untreated.

Drawing on years of practical experience and patient advocacy, Greg remains committed to the goal of making hepatitis C treatment accessible to everyone who needs it.
